Naldo believes Wolfsburg teammate Diego will stay at the club and has urged the board to cement his future.
Diego has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga with former employers Atletico Madrid interested but Naldo insists he is loyal to the cause.
“Diego is 100 percent VfL. He makes sensational things happen, and he speaks every day with the team and the coach. He wants us to be better,” Naldo told reporters.
“I’ve known Diego for many years, we were together at Werder Bremen. Since he was still a young player, he’s here already became a father and now an experienced man and footballer.
“He has to help us this season. Allofs has said that he wants to renew the contract with Diego. I hope he does.”
Naldo also waved away rumours of a possible linkup with Bayern Munich midfielder compatriot Luiz Gustavo.
“Luiz is not here yet, yes. But I’m sure he would fit in very well with us and pretty quickly interact perfectly with us.”
