Liédson and Flamengo reached an agreement to allow the striker to leave the club by mutual consent.

His contract with Flamengo would expire in December 2013, he was loaned to FC Porto last season, playing six league games, and not scoring any goal.

The striker joined Flamengo in 2012, but despite his high salary, he could not live up to the expectations.

Liédson’s agent Bruno Paiva talked with Globo Esporte about his client, he said: “We are finalizing the agreement, the paperwork is done and just need the signatures, I think it will be done within the next days.”

The striker has previously played for Coritiba, Corinthians and Sporting Lisbon, and was in Portugal’s national team squad in the 2010 World Cup.

Liédson has not ruled out the possibility of retiring from the game.
