São Paulo midfielder Wellington says it is his dream to play for Inter Milan as he continues to be linked with a move to the San Siro.

The 22-year-old reportedly reached an agreement with Galatasarary earlier this summer, but turned down a move to the Turkish club as his sights are firmly set on the Italian giants.

And Wellington has spoken of his desire to join Inter as he is eager to follow in the footsteps of some fellow Brazilians.

“My dream is to play for Inter,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“I hope that the situation will be resolved soon.

“I want to be part of the history of Inter as Maicon, Lucio and Julio Cesar have been.”

It has previously been reported that São Paulo could allow the defensive midfielder to leave on loan, with an option to buy him outright for €8 million.

Wellington has made 93 appearances for the Morumbi outfit since making his debut in 2008, scoring just once.
