Seedorf bemoans Botafogo's bad luck
Clarence Seedorf bemoaned his team's ill fortune on Saturday after an own goal condemned Botafogo to a 1-1 draw against Goias in the Brasileirão.
Botafogo were held to a draw after Andre Bahia contrived to turn the ball into his own net after Rafael Marques put the hosts ahead..
"We improved in the second half and managed to score but it's always difficult when you concede an own goal," Seedorf said.
"That happens. We controlled the game but the team deserves to be congratulated. It's difficult to beat Botafogo."
Defender Bahia deflected the ball into his own net in the 68th minute, canceling out Marques' opener at the Mane Garrincha stadium.
Goias were reduced to 10 men in the 87th minute when midfielder Hugo received his second yellow card for a foul on Marcelo Mattos.
Botafogo remain at the top of the standings but could be surpassed by Cruzeiro and Coritiba on Sunday.
