Brasileirão wrap: Botafogo held to draw but go top
Botafogo were held to a 1-1 draw by midtable side Goiás after a calamitious own goal deprived the Fogão a win.
Rafael Marques had given the home side the lead in the second half after a goalless first half, but André Bahia deflected the ball into his own net to give Goiás an unexpected point.
The result returns Botafogo to the top of the table, one point ahead of second-placed Cruzeiro but have played a game more.
In the only other game played, Atlético Mineiro continued their disappointing run of form as they could only manage a goalless draw at bottom-placed Náutico.
The Copa Libertadores triumph continues to exact their toll as the Galo hovers above the relegation places in 16th while Náutico remain bottom.
The remaining games of this round of the Brasileirão is set to take place tonight with Cruzeiro and Coritiba battling to reclaim the top spot from Botofogo.
