Fred: Scolari has restored Brazil's respect
Brazil forward Fred has heaped praise on Luiz Felipe Scolari for restoring the national team’s reputation ahead of Wednesday's friendly with Switzerland.
The former Chelsea and Portugal boss returned for a second stint with the Seleção in November and guided them to Confederations Cup glory in June.
And Fred, who has scored five goals in his last three matches, says Scolari has completely changed the national team set up and they are motivated ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
"This moment is wonderful," the 29-year-old told reporters. "Felipão has imposed his own style on the team and the group has understood it well.
"We won [the Confederations Cup] and we are more respected. We've looked for that respect, so much so that now rivals want to beat Brazil more than before. We are more motivated too.
"We are going in the right way. We still have to grow up a lot in friendly games to make it into the World Cup ready."
The Seleção face Switzerland in Basel this evening in their first match since beating Spain in the Confederations Cup final at the Maracanã.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 BST and you can follow all the action live on Sambafoot’s text commentary.
