Dani Alves defends Neymar's media shun
Dani Alves has defended Barcelona and Brazil team-mate Neymar for not facing the media before Wednesday’s international friendly against Switzerland.
The 21-year-old, had been scheduled to appear at the press conference in Basel but withdrew late in the day, much to the frustration of journalists in attendance.
However, Dani Alves attended and asked the media to show some understanding, seeing as Neymar's physical condition has been the subject of debate ever since it was announced he has anaemia.
"Everyone's talking a lot about these little problems that he is having," said Alves, as reported on Goal.com.
"So, it's important for him to not get distracted by all these problems being discussed at the moment and not let them interfere with his development.
"You have to forgive the boy. He's focused on what he wants and he is so important for us.
"And it's always been better to work hard and speak little."
