Seleção boss Scolari slams Barcelona over Neymar's 'anaemia'
Seleção boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has slammed Barcelona for their treatment of Neymar, criticising their medical staff's anaemia diagnosis.
Barcelona revealed that the Brazilian star has anaemia, but Scolari has dismissed claims that Neymar was not eating properly in Brazil.
"It’s unacceptable that Neymar now has anaemia," Scolari said at a press conference. "He was with Barcelona before the Confederations Cup and he was perfectly fine.
"At the moment it’s clear he’s not the same, though, because he underwent surgery. It seems it was that lot [Barcelona], who know everything, who think they are always right.
"It was always obvious Neymar was going to lose weight after the surgery."
The Seleção face Switzerland in Basel this evening in their first match since beating Spain in the Confederations Cup final at the Maracanã.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:45 BST and you can follow all the action live on Sambafoot’s text commentary.
