FIFA fines CBF over doping case
FIFA has fined the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) for failing to provide information relating to a doping case.
World football's governing body said in a statement that the fine, in the region of €8,000, had been imposed for “not complying with the request from the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.”
FIFA said documents and information related to the case were not submitted "within the deadline."
They have not named the player involved but but Brazilian media widely reported that it was related to former Vasco da Gama playmaker Carlos Alberto.
The 28-year-old was cleared of doping charges after a test came back positive for a banned diuretic.
