Scolari: Seleção places up for grabs
Luiz Felipe Scolari has thrown down the gauntlet to those still hopeful of making it into the Seleção for the 2014 World Cup.
The Brazil coach has admitted that while he has the majority of places filled, there is still time to impress and break into the 23-man squad.
"The base of players that won the Confederations Cup will be retained for next summer. The players were amazing in that tournament and I will only make a few changes for the World Cup," Scolari told reporters.
"The door will never be closed for any player who shines but, in principle, I will have chosen my 23 players for World Cup by March.
"These two games against Australia and Portugal could be my last chance to observe certain players before deciding who should go to World Cup."
Scolari said he was looking forward to the two games against Australia and Portugal after the side suffered a disappointing defeat to Switzerland last time out.
