Elano back in training for Grêmio
Former Manchester City midfielder Elano is back in training for his current club Grêmio, following a spell on the sidelines through injury.
The attacking midfield playmaker has been out of action since he picked up an injury against Bahia on the eleventh of August, but coach Renato Gaúcho hopes to have him available for selection sooner rather than later.
The injury was suffered in an awkward area around the lower back, which can affect running, balance, and the ability to compete in physical battles.
Grêmio’s next fixture is against Portuguesa at the weekend, and they will be hoping to get back to winning ways following their loss to Goiás yesterday.
With everyone fully fit, the Porto Alegre side have a strong squad made up of seasoned professionals, as well as some of the brightest young talent in Brazil.
Players such as 18-year-old striker Yuri Mamute, and midfield brothers Guilherme and Matheus Biteco have been tipped for great things.
