Brazil team v Australia: Maicon, Ramires, Bernard and Jô could all start
Injuries to several key players in the Brazil squad will give opportunities to some fringe players, when Brazil face Australia tonight in Brasilia.
Dani Alves is out injured which has seen Maicon and Marcos Rocha move into contention for the right back berth, with Roma’s experienced campaigner Maicon likely to get the nod.
Oscar and Hulk will be missing in midfield, which will see the introduction of former Atlético Mineiro attacker Bernard, with Chelsea midfielder Ramires also coming into the line-up.
Fluminense striker Fred has been Brazil’s goal poacher up front this year, but will be missing due to a thigh injury.
Alexandre Pato was called up as a replacement, but the starting position could go to Jô, who was already in the squad.
Brazil’s probable starting team for tonight is as follows.
Julio Cesar; Maicon, David Luiz, Thiago Silva, Marcelo; Luiz Gustavo, Paulinho; Ramires, Neymar, Bernard; Jô
