Brazil v Australia: Scolari prepares Brazil for World Cup 2014
Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari says that tonight’s friendly match against Australia will be vital as his side prepare for the World Cup next year.
Scolari commented that Australia’s style of play, and the height they possess in their team, will prepare them for similar challenges in the 2014 tournament.
"This is a World Cup encounter. Australia play with nine men behind the midfield and seven or eight players are taller than 1.85 metres.
“They play very different to us and are the kind of rival that we can clash in the tournament" he said.
In their game prior to this the Seleção lost 1-0 to Switzerland, after a Dani Alves own goal gave the hosts the win in Basel.
Brazil will hope to return to winning ways tonight in Brasilia, and they will play in front of an expectant crowd who will be especially lively as today is Independence Day in Brazil.
